Last month, the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) said that the proposed acquisition of Blizzard-Activision by Microsoft might lead to competition concerns, and a more in-depth review was announced. “Following our Phase 1 investigation, we are concerned that Microsoft could use its control over popular games like Call of Duty and World of Warcraft post-merger to harm rivals, including recent and future rivals in multi-game subscription services and cloud gaming”, the CMA said last month....

Update 1: The German-language Xbox Twitter account seems to have confirmed the following rumor, posting that Monster Hunter Rise is coming to Xbox Game Pass on January 20, 2023. Presumably, the game will be coming to PlayStation as well. This has yet to be confirmed by English Xbox PR or Capcom, so it seems like the German Twitter account may have let the beans spill early. Per the latest episode of Grubbsnax, and confirmed by Corden in an article on Windows Central, Project Suerte is going to be a Monster-Hunter-style adventure, featuring big bosses of some type and co-op play. This project reportedly began development back in 2020, so it’s unlikely to arrive this year, but a 2023 or 2024 release may be feasible. Some days ago, FromSoftware rolled out update 1.02.1 for PC and PS5, and we now another yet another update for these platforms. Interestingly, the Xbox version has yet to receive a new patch. PC owners will be happy to learn that this minor new patch addresses an issue that resulted in the GPU not being used properly, in turn resulting in slow performance of the game.
