Apple Announces Apple Watch SE With Crash Detection, ECG Functionality, and Much More at $249
The new Apple Watch SE 2 comes with the same Apple Watch experience at a lower price. While the general design is the same, the back of the wearable is redesigned with a color-matched nylon composite material. Apart from this, the SE 2 comes in new color options, which include Midnight, Starlight, and Silver, with matching back cases. In terms of performance, the Apple Watch SE 2 comes with an upgraded processor. It is the same chip that powers the Apple Watch Series 8. What this means is that the S8 chip will bring high-end performance to all models of the Apple Watch. The S8 chip is 20 percent faster than its predecessor. In comparison, the original Apple Watch SE featured an S5 chip. While the Series 8 and Apple Watch Ultra get all the high-end features, Apple Watch SE 2 received its fair share of upgrades. The entry-level wearable from Apple now also gets ECG functionality and Blood Oxygen apps. Before today, these features were only available on the high-end models of the Apple Watch. Henceforth, we are glad that Apple finally made the technology available on its entry-level model of the Apple Watch. Another notable feature is Crash Detection which is also available in pricier models of the wearable. In addition, you can also pair the watches for children with your iPhone using the Family Setup. You can get your hands on the Apple Watch SE 2 for $249, and the cellular variant will cost you $299. You can pre-order the SE 2 starting today, and it will be available on September 16.
